Day Out o’ Time

Date PostedJuly 25th, 2010

Today, July 25, is an important day in the Mayan calendar – the “Day Out of Time” and tomorrow is the first day of the new Mayan year. The Mayan calendar is built around a 13-month cycle, each month has exactly 28 days which totals to an overall 364 days. The last day of the year is left out of this count and therefore is “out of time”.

This day is considered an opportunity for a big change: purification and healing, for forgiveness and atonement, achieving peace, and relating to life as art. It may also be a great time to clarify our understanding, focus on direction and create a major shift.

Today is also the day designated by Dr. Masaru Emoto as the global Day of Love and Thanks to Water. This is a day to say “I love you” and “Thank you” to all the waters of the planet and fill them with the highest possible vibration (HADO) of Love and Thanks.

Katrina Dreamer

Date PostedJuly 21st, 2010

I am a dream BIG kinda girl. I like juicy, full-to-the-brim-with-goodness dreams that make my heart want to burst with passion and excitement. But these are the dreams I create in my waking hours, what about the ones that happen while we’re sleeping? What do they mean?

Enter Katrina. She’s a dreamer too. Her work involves illuminating the soul through her artistry with a camera, talent with words, expertise in dreamwork, compassionate teaching style, and ability as a clairvoyant – she’s like a spiritually creative Wonder Woman, I ADORE her.

Katrina receives messages from nature by way of dreams, clairvoyance, and deep experience and shares them through writing, photographs, teaching, speaking, and mixed media collage. She brings her love for beauty, myth, archetypes, and ancestry to her work.

New Moon AND a Total Solar Eclipse

Date PostedJuly 11th, 2010

Well, a new moon AND a Total Solar Eclipse – powerful stuff!

It seems rather fitting for the water sign of Cancer, that today’s Total Solar Eclipse will occur over the South Pacific Ocean (in totality visible just off the coast of South America).

Now, Eclipse season is existentially rocky. Fact.Have you been feeling it? I know I have…We’re collectively and personally stirred, pulled, stretched into ever new dimensions of our self-existence.

If this is you, take heart. Our emotional realities are human ones joining us to the entire human family, none of us are ever truly alone. Someone has always been where you have been. They lived to not only tell the tale, but offer the way forward for you. There’s always help – if you ask for it. The Cancer season is for self-nurture, so take good care of yo’ sweet selves, ‘k?

Now the New Moon is the right time for setting new intentions. Eclipses ask us to examine how we’ve limited our self-expression so we can develop a more fulfilling relationship to the house of life in which the eclipse falls.

Where does this eclipse fall in your birth chart?

About this area of life, ask: Is remaining isolated here costing me growth? In what area of my life have the actions and deeds of my hands grown increasingly separate from my heart? If we’ve been avoiding engaging the growth concerns in that part of our birth chart, Cancer is one of the most growth-resistant of signs. Why? Imagine a delicate pink sweet pea flower trembling on a windswept vine. Change is scary. We are that vulnerable and tender here; we’ve been hurt before. It’s not easy to take off the heart-armor one more time, but if we don’,t we may never leave the safety of the Crab shell.

So your task for today: set fab intentions, make vows to the Goddess and look after your sweet, sweet selves…it’s a Sassy order! Be sure to come back and tell me all about them!

Banish bad jou jou

Date PostedJuly 9th, 2010

So, this dark moon is all about introspection, rejuvenatory rest and chucking out ALL the old not-so-good stuff – mental, physical, in your wardrobe etc. Which is why I plan on cutting emo ties that currently bind me to the past and banishing any bad jou jou surrounding me so the Universe knows I’m clear, tuned and ready for the good stuff to start a flowing!

Now, banishing bad jou jou doesn’t require a complicated spell or full blown ritual to work. The simplest of banishing spells can still make a big change. Everyday Witch A to Z, by the fabulous Deborah Blake, has a useful and easy banishing spell that doesn’t require any special supplies. She recommends using a small slip of paper to write about the negative or unwanted issue you want resolved or removed from your life, then, after focusing on sending this negativity away, burn it using a candle or small fire.

The most important thing is to consider the intent and effect of the spell. Using a phrase such as ‘this person/people must leave this neighborhood’ will interfere with another person’s free will. However, a phase like ‘I’d like this problem to stop causing negativity in my life’ lets things unfold naturally.

I’m off to banish my bad jou jou ready for Sunday’s new moon of infinite possibility – Universe, bring on the awesomeness please!

Do you have any ways to banish bad jou jou? Care to share – would love to hear all about it!

Life Lesson

Date PostedJune 30th, 2010

“Cherish your solitude. Take trains by yourself to places you have never been. Sleep out alone under the stars. Learn how to drive a stick shift. Go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back. Say no when you don’t want to do something. Say yes if your instincts are strong, even if everyone around you disagrees. Decide whether you want to be liked or admired. Decide if fitting in is more important than finding out what you’re doing here. Believe in kissing.”

To Do List

Date PostedJune 28th, 2010

tumblr_l3xqz8TOa11qzcmcno1_500_large

I LOVE a ‘To Do’ List.
I fill it to the brim with things like, return this call, write that article, pitch that idea, buy that book, hoover and…well, you get the idea, right? A list helps me get my focus on and stops me feeling so stressy and overwhelmed. It’s like a li’l ritual each morning to kick-start my day…

Thing is, we get so caught up in the things we ought to do, and forget to the add to that ‘To Do’ list all the things we absolutely, positively should do every single day, like:

♥ Laugh out loud
♥ Step outside, take some deep breaths and thank God/Goddess/The Universe/N-Dubz for a rather fabulous day ahead
♥ Look in the mirror and tell how beautiful I are
♥ Call a friend – leave them a happy voice mail if you can’t get through
♥ Send a txt/email to someone you haven’t talked to in a while

What’s on your “To Do” list today?

It’s in the stars

Date PostedJune 28th, 2010

Rub your eyes and have a biiiiig dee-licious stretch – it’s time to shake off that Full Moon Eclipse hangover.

Chill out, give yourself some time to process any big realisations you might have had and don’t guilt yourself into having to do things you think you have to do. Instead, as much as possible, read a book and get some sleep. Seriously, self-care and a whole lot o’ love for your sweet self is THE way through these last few weeks of Saturn in Virgo.

Now, the New Moon Eclipse on July 11/12 is all about fresh beginnings, self-renewal and – for many – new relationships – ohhhh la la. So do what you need to do to tie-up any loose unhappy endings and make room for the good stuff!

Since last October, it has been ALL about letting go of the past in prep for this new kick-ass era. Think of October 2009 until August 2010 as transitional and see how well that fits for you – it deffo does for me!

Karmic astro-types say that the Moon this past weekend stirred up lots o’ past life memories. Now that the angsty agitation phase of it is settling down, be really, really good to yourself ‘k?!
